Two
cousins accused of raping and killing Khayelitsha teenager Sinoxolo Mafevuka in
an act of jealously and anger made a brief appearance in court today.
The
matter was postponed to later this month because the investigating officer was
unavailable.
The
19-year-old woman's
body was found in a communal toilet in March.Court proceedings
could not proceed because investigating officer Batiki Tshabalala had to be at
the Western Cape High Court for another matter.
Defence
lawyer Thabo Nogemane's pleas to magistrate Xolani Menyiwe to get Tshabalala to
make other arrangements were not successful.
Menyiwe said it
would be impossible to expect Tshabalala to neglect his duties.
The two accused
appeared frustrated and they shook their heads when they were told the matter
has been postponed to later this month.
