City accused of planning to evict 60 residents in Belhar

City of Cape Town wants to evict 60 residents’
families from their properties in the Belhar Self Help area.
A community report back meeting is
expected to be held today.
ANC Councillor in the area Delmaine
Cottee says “When people got on the site they did not get any service and they
had to spend R10-R15 000 rand to access water, electricity and sewerage pipes
as well.
“As a councillor we will be having a
meeting tonight at the Belhar Hugenot Square Community Hall, opposite Belhar
Police Station.”
“We also getting legal advice also in
terms of this matter” he said in conclusion.
