Pickets planned outside SABC offices in JHB & CT

The South African National Editors Forum has called on all journalists to dress in black and join this morning's picket outside the South African Broadcasting Corporation, to show support for the suspended journalists expected to face disciplinary action today.

At least three SABC journalists have been suspended for disagreeing with an instruction not to cover a picket by the Right to Know Campaign.

It’s believed three more senior journalists have been charged with misconduct after writing a letter to SABC Chief Operations Officer Hlaudi Motsoeneng, voicing their concerns over censorship.

Civil organisations will picket outside the SABC's offices, both in Cape Town and Johannesburg this morning.


Sanef’s Adriaan Basson says journalists are voicing their support for their colleagues at the embattled public broadcaster.
