Police have not be able to confirm whether two security guards have been questioned in connection with a fatal shooting in Nyanga.

Nineteen-year-old Vernande Pokwana was shot dead after two security guards reportedly opened fire on a group of boys in a shack two weeks ago.

Seven others were wounded. Police would not be drawn on the specifics of the investigation, but witnesses claimed that two security guards took action after an attempted heist.

Nyanga community members claimed that a gang of teenagers tried to rob a bakery delivery van.

Nyanga Community Policing Forum chairperson, Martin Makasi, has confirmed that the boys were sitting in a shack when they were shot.

No arrests have yet been made in connection with robbery or the shootings.
