State Security Minister David Mahlobo is requesting a full report on the security breach which saw four women stage a silent protest while President Jacob Zuma was delivering his municipal elections results acceptance speech, at the IEC results operations centre in Pretoria on Saturday night.
Mahlobo spoke at the interministerial committee and said that they do have the democratic right to protest but equally we must also respect that there are security parameters.
He was asked whether he supports Social Development Minister Bathabile Dlamini’s demand for an apology from the IEC chairperson Glen Mashinini to which he noted that the IEC deputy chairperson Terry Tselade had apologized to Zuma after his speech.
