Man seriously injured after taxi struck him in Bellville, Cape Town

A man was left seriously injured on Thursday morning when he was struck by a taxi at the Charl Malan and Kerk intersection in Bellville, Cape Town.

Paramedics arrived on the scene at 09h05 on Thursday to find the taxi on the side of the road. The male pedestrian was found lying next to the patient on the sidewalk.

It is understood that members of the public had pulled the man from beneath the vehicle.

‘’Medics assessed the man and found that he had sustained several injuries and was in a serious condition. The man was treated and provided with pain-relief medication before he was transported to Tygerberg Provincial Hospital for further care,’’ said ER24’s Russel Meiring.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
