Shireen Essop, who went missing three weeks ago, has been reunited with her family. The Cape Town woman was last seen driving a white Toyota along Weltevreden Road on 23 May.
She was found at around 2am by a Klipfontein neighbourhood
watch member at Klipfontein Mission Station.
In a statement posted on social media, her family have
given thanks to Allah for her safe return, also thanking the public for their
ongoing prayers and support.
‘’Glory be to Allah, the nourisher and sustainer of all the
worlds. Only through His Mercy is any and all things possible. It give me great
pleasure in informing you, that Shireen has finally been reunited with her
family. Words alone cannot express our heartfelt appreciation for being in your
thoughts and in your hearts during these dark hours. Your support and
continuous prayers have given us the strength to remain positive and hopeful
that the Almighty will guide her safely back home to us.’’
‘’Only Allah knows how much it means to us and may HE
continue to protect and bless all our families. We ask that you continue to
make duah for her for a full recovery. Ameen,’’ read the statement.
Western Cape police spokesperson Captain FC Van Wyk
confirmed Essop's safe return.
"This office can confirm that the missing Shireen
Essop has been found and reunited with her family. The details of the matter
are still the subject of the investigation."
