Simon’s Town resident are to expect water disruptions, this is according to the City’s Water and Sanitation Directorate who stated that water supply in the area will be shut down on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The City’s Mayoral Committee
Member for Water and Sanitation, Councillor Zahid Badroodien said that the
maintenance team will be repairing and replacing a faulty fire hydrants along
Simon’s Town Main Road and to do a tie-in on the 300mm diameter water main.
The water disruptions is expected
to take place at 21:00 until 05:00 on Wednesday. Water supply will be shut down between Red
Hill Road and Simon’s Town Main Road on Wednesday so that the maintenance team can
tie-in the 300mm diameter water main. This will enhance the water supply
infrastructure by affording an alternate water supply route for the area.
“We sincerely regret any
inconvenience caused to the consumers in these areas, but it is a necessity
that has to be done soonest,’’said Badroodien.
