Brace Yourselves South Africans: Fuel Prices Increases

Drivers will be facing a huge challenge of increased fuel prices on Wednesday after the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy Resources announced that the price of petrol will be at R2.37 (93 octane ) and R2.57 (95 octane) a litre, whilst diesel prices will jump to R2.31 (0,05%) and R2.30 (0,005%) a litre.

Inland province, a litre of 95 petrol is set to be hiked by R26.74 on Wednesday. Among the increased fuel prices, the cost of paraffin will increase by R1, 66 a litre and the highest LPGas price will decrease by R2.18.

The Deparment said the ongoing war in Ukraine continues to have a negative impact in the economy as Russia is the world`s third largest producer of crude oil and, this has resulted in increasing oil prices higher.
