An elderly man from Melkbosstrand has died after he had been diving near to the Yzerfontein’s Schaapen Island on Thursday.
The NSRI’s Craig Lambinon said that a local diver alerted
the team that his diving partner had gone missing.
‘’Family of the missing man had joined in a search. During
a search, the body of the man was located by his dive partner on rocks on the
shoreline near to where he had reportedly gone missing.’’
‘’The body of the man was taken into the care of Police and
Government Health Forensic Pathology Services,’’ Lambinon added.
Police have opened an inquest docket.
