Man killed after losing control of vehicle in Tokai

One man was killed and four others injured when their car they were travelling in lost control and crashed into a tree off Tokai Road in Tokai, on Sunday afternoon

‘’ER24, Metro EMS and Rescue, Western Cape Fire, Life Healthcare and other services arrived on the scene at 12h18 to find the wrecked vehicle on the side of the road. One man was found trapped inside the car, while four others were lying outside the car,’’ said ER24's communication officer, Russel Meiring.

‘’On assessment, medics found that the entrapped man had already succumbed to numerous injuries. Nothing could be done for him, and he was declared dead,’’ added Meiring.

The four other patients were found with serious to moderate injuries. Medics treated the patients and provided the seriously injured man with advanced life support before they were transported to nearby hospitals for further care.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations
