One killed, several injured in Langa, when car rolled and crashed into a light pole

One person was killed and seven others injured when their vehicle rolled and crashed into a light pole off the N2 in Langa, on Friday night.

ER24's Russel Meiring said Metro EMS, Western Cape Fire and other services arrived on the scene at approximately 22h00 to find a wrecked light motor vehicle on its side some distance from the road.

“Several people were seen scattered around the car. Medics quickly assessed the patients and found that one person had already succumbed to their injuries. Nothing could be done, and they were declared dead. Two other patients were in critical condition, while five others, including a child, had sustained moderate injuries,” said ER24's communication officer, Russel Meiring.

The spokesperson said the patients were treated for their injuries, and the critically injured were provided with advanced life support interventions before they were transported to nearby hospitals for further care.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
