27-year-old woman arrested in Bishop Lavis for dealing in drugs

A 27-year-old was arrested on Tuesday at Bishop Lavis for being in possession of drugs.

According to the Metro Police spokesperson, Ruth Solomons, officers received information of dagga being sold from a house in the area.

Upon arrival, it is reported that the officers found a woman in the back, busy packing dagga.

A further search of the premises revealed various quantities of cannabis infused sweets, cigarettes, sachets, and loose dagga weighing approximately 1.4 kilograms.

The officers also found more than R160 000 in cash, which the woman could not account for.

“Metro Police officers arrested a suspect for dealing in dagga in Bishop Lavis earlier today. Just after 11:00, the officers acted on information of dagga being sold from a house in the area.

On arrival, the owner granted permission to search the premises. Officers found a woman in the back, busy packing dagga.

The 27-year old suspect was arrested on drug related charges and detained at Bishop Lavis SAPS, and all exhibits, including the money was booked in for further investigation” she added.
