The South African Weather Service has issued a yellow, level 2 warning for damaging winds from Friday until Saturday, with a 60% chance of rain for Friday.
The warning is in place between Saldanha and Cape Agulhas, with forecasts of strong to gale-force north-westerly to westerly winds that could possibly see roofs being blown off, trees being uprooted and affecting power lines, as well as the risk for road users, particularly high-sided vehicles.

The City of Cape Town’s Disaster Risk Management Centre
says it is on standby to deal with any impacts brought on by the forecast.
‘’The public is advised to be very careful outdoors, and to
ensure that outdoor furniture and other items are secured, to minimise the risk
of damage or injury,’’ said Sonica Lategan, City of Cape Town’s Disaster Risk
Management Centre spokesperson.
