African National Congress (ANC) leader, Cyril Ramaphosa, who was elected on Friday, to be South Africa’s president, will be sworn in on Wednesday, but already is facing a challenge – an impeachment.
Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader, Julius Malema,
submitted an urgent motion for the establishment of an impeachment committee,
to the Speaker of National Assembly, Thoko Didiza. The EFF Deputy President,
Floyd Shivambu says the report of an independent panel found that there was a
prima facie case for impeachment against Ramaphosa for the Phala Phala matter.

Speaker Thoko Didiza said the matter would need to be
deliberated upon as there was a process by the sixth administration.
“Once we’ve considered your letter we will give you a
response on how the seventh administration will proceed with the matter.’’
