Western Cape police are investigating a triple murder that occurred in the early hours of Saturday. A fourth victim, a 26-year-old woman was rushed to hospital after the bullet struck her arm.
“Preliminary reports indicate that two unknown suspects approached a residence in Hankomo Street, Lower Crossroads, Philippi East, identified themselves as police officers, and claimed to be looking for something. The suspects then opened fire on the occupants of the house,” said Colonel Andrè Traut, Western Cape police spokesperson.
“Two men, aged 19 and 20, as well as a 20-year-old woman,
were declared dead at the scene by medical personnel. A fourth victim, a
26-year-old woman, sustained gunshot wounds to her arms and was transported to
a medical facility for treatment,” he added.
The motive for the attack is yet to be determined, and the
suspects remain at large.
