Two men have been shot outside the Mitchells Plain Magistrate's Court in shortly after attending their court appearance on Monday.
One of the victims was killed in the shooting, while the other man was wounded.
Western Cape police believe the shooting may be gang
related.
"Four armed males surprised them and fired numerous
gunshots. One man did not survive the onslaught on his life whilst another was
admitted to a nearby hospital with serious gunshot wounds. The motive for this
murder and attempted murder is believed
to be gang related. The suspects fled the scene and they are yet to be arrested,"
said Warrant Officer Joseph Swartbooi, Western Cape police spokesperson.
In an unrelated matter on Sunday, a 37-year-old man was
fatally stabbed and shot in Beacon Valley.

registered a murder case following a stabbing and shooting incident on Sunday,
2025-08-24 at 10:30 in AZ Berman drive (opposite a petrol station), Beacon
Valley, Mitchells Plain, where a 37 year old male was fatally injured. The
victim was declared deceased by medical personnel on the scene. The motive is
believed to be gang related,’’ said Captain F.C van Wyk, Western Cape police
spokesperson.
Two men in their 20s and 30s
were also shot and fatally wounded and another man in his 30s were left injured
in Montrose Park, on Sunday morning. The motive is believed to be gang related.
