Another shooting on the Cape Flats
Cape Town police are investigating a case of attempted murder after this morning’s shooting in Hanover Park on the Cape Flats. The police’s Elliot Sinyangana says a 20-year-old man, believed to be a member of a local gang, was shot and wounded in the left leg before dawn this morning. Sinyangana says the patient was rushed to hospital for treatment. This follows a relatively quiet weekend in the area that has been plagued by resurgence in gang violence that claimed at least eight people over the past few weeks. Yesterday, hundreds of Hanover Park residents marched through the streets demanding peace.
