Denials in two high profile murder cases
The suspect in the Inge Lotz murder case, Fred van der Vyfer, and Professor Derick Veldman, whose name has been linked to the death of Bloemfontein medical technologist Danicha de Villiers, both say allegations that they know each other is part of a smear campaign against them. Their names cropped up over the weekend in connection with the two high-profile murder cases. Van der Vyfer and Veldman says that they had never met, nor had any contact with each other. Matie student Lotz was found in her Stellenbosch flat in March last year with wounds to her head. De Villiers’ body was found at Bloemfontein's Loch Logan Waterfront in July 2004.
