Heated exchanges in Zuma rape trial
Judge Willem van der Merwe had to intervene during a heated exchange in Jacob Zuma’s rape trial this morning. Ntsoaki Siqashe testified in the Johannesburg High Court about rape allegations the complainant had made against two men while in exile in Lusaka in 1988. The complainant was 13 at the time. Siqashe testified that the men had said they had relationships with her and were found guilty of having sex with a minor. The cases had not been reported to the Zambian authorities. The judge had to intervene when Siqashe and state advocate Herman Broodryk kept interrupting each other. The case has been adjourned until Monday.
