TAC lashes government in report to UN
A damning indictment of the government's response to the Aids crisis has been handed to the head of the United Nations secretary-general Kofi Annan. The handing of the report by the Treatment Action Campaign to Annan drags him into the row over the TAC's exclusion from the UN general assembly special session on Aids because of the South African government's objection. Annan’s spokesperson Brenden Varma has confirmed to the Sunday Independent that the secretary-general had received the TAC's submission and forwarded it to UNAids for input and comment.
