A man was arrested in connection with the kidnapping and rape of a six-year-old girl in Philippi, Western Cape police said yesterday.
SAPS spokesperson Captain Ntomboxolo Sitshitshi said that the 26-year-old was arrested in Arcacia Park near Lower Crossroads on Saturday.
According to reports the incident took place in the early hours of Monday morning.
The suspect will be appearing in Wynberg Court on the charges of kidnapping and rape later today.
