Paramedics suspect the cause of an accident they attended, to be as a result of an allergic reaction near Botfontein Road in Kraaifontein yesterday afternoon.
Er24’s Tristan Wadeley says a twenty nine year old female allegedly had an anaphylactic reaction to medication that she had taken at home.
“The lady felt like she was having a reaction to the medication, so she got in her car and was on her way to hospital when her level of consciousness decreased as a result of the reaction.”
Wadeley says this caused her car to leave the road and for her car to run into a grassy area next to the road where paramedics found her on their arrival.
Paramedics worked quickly to treat the lady and advanced life support measures were taken to stabilize her condition, says Wadeley.
Once stable, the lady was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital to receive further treatment, he said.
