The Youth Month kicked off in Bonteheuwel, Bishop Lavis, under the chairmanship of Mr. Michael Wilhelm of Bonteheuwel and in co- operation with Sector Manager Capt Danie Venter held a successful march against child abuse.
Captain Marie Louw of Bishop Lavis SAPS said 169 children from pre-primary school in Bontheuwel marched to mark child protection month and against child abuse.
“The reason for that is because communities don’t know what child abuse is all about and they only accept it as another crime”
Louw added that they just want to make parents aware that they must be alert on abuse against children.
Captain Louw said the march was very successful
