The Federation of Unions of South Africa even thought they did not take part in yesterday’s picketing against SABC which was organised by the Television Industry Emergency coalition, but it strongly supports what they did.

Fedusa Deputy General Secretary Gretchen Humphries said they are currently involved with the SABC in a discussion about the wages television workers that have not been paid.

Humphries said that the stepping down of the chairperson of the board was the positive step and they want to see a completely new board because the current board is the one that led SABC into financial shambles.

“And a new interim board be elected to sort out the financial shambles of SABC”

According to Humphries the SABC board are sorely responsible for the current challenge they are facing in terms of finances because of bad decisions taken by the court.
