A one-day operation was conducted on Friday in several suburbs in the Stellenbosch Cluster including Stellenbosch, Klapmuts, Groot Drakenstein, Franschoek, Cloetesville, Strand, Lwandle, Somerset West, Gordons Bay.
The operation was in conjunction with the SARS, Metro Police, Provincial Traffic Police and other Law enforcement agencies. The SAPS and Air force air wing Units was also utilized during this crime prevention operation.
SAPS spokesperson Inspector November Filander said the aim of the operation was to address priority crimes and road safety.
“During the operation two hundred and thirty seven traffic fineswere issued to the value of about R103 800-00. Two hundred people were searched and one thousand and sixty three vehicles were searched,” said Filander
