The Energy Department today confessed that it made a mistake last week when announcing the petrol price increase for June.
All grades of petrol were originally expected to go up by 16 cents per litre from Wednesday, June 3 but according to the the department the price of petrol will go up by 17 cents per litre.
According to the department’s Bheki Khumalo all zones in the country will have a petrol increase of 17 cents. However, in the so-called sea zones which are pipe line zones the petrol will go up by between 15cents and 17 cents.
