The city of Rustenburg which will also host the Confederations Cup is sharing its safety and security plans with Cape Town.
A team from Cape Town is on a one week visit to Rustenburg.
Officials from the Metro Police, law enforcement, traffic, disaster management and fire and rescue services will study preparations for the New Zealand versus Spain match that will be played at Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Sunday and the game between South Africa and New Zealand two days later.
Cape Town will host a number of games in the 2010 World Cup.
