The five remaining SABC board members continue to hold onto their positions despite political pressure, even after Minister of Communication Siphiwe Nyanda told them in a meeting yesterday that the board has all but collapsed.

Despite the minister’s attempt to convince the members to resign to make way for the new appointed interim board, they refuse to budge.

According to reports this is most likely to open the way for a parliamentary inquiry.

The five directors stuck to their guns even after a fellow board member gave in her resignation at a meeting held in Pretoria yesterday.
