A Masiphumelele man is due to appear in the Simon’s town Magistrate’s court today for murder and arson.
In the early hours of yesterday morning shacks were burnt down in to ashes in the area.
Police say a 49 year old suspect started the fire after had an argument with his wife.
“The suspect beaten, strangle and chocked the deceased to death inside the shack.
“He later then set the shack alights with his wife still inside,” said Inspector Nkosikho Mzuko.
Mzuku says the fire spread to other near-by shacks leaving resident with nothing.
