Police have confirmed that a woman involved in a hit-and-run that left a five year old girl dead in Mitchell’s Plain, handed herself over to authorities at the weekend.
The girl was fatally struck at the intersection of Spine and Merrydale Road, in Rocklands last week Thursday.
Inspector Ian Williams says the woman came forward and was released on a warning.
"We are waiting for the post mortem report and then the charge will then be formally put to the suspect in court and she will then be charged with culpable homicide,” said Williams.
The suspec t will appear in court soon.
Police investigations are underway.
