Wynberg police have issued a stern warning against perjury in an effort to make money.
The warning comes after three people were arrested for making false claims in teh past two months.
In the first incident, the complainant alleged that he had been robbed of cash at gunpoint. Further police investigations later revealed that he had in fact stolen
R30000 from his place of work.
Another complainant claimed he had also been robbed of R85 000 at gunpoint and assaulted. During follow up investigations, it emerged that the money was stolen from the company at which he was employed.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, another falsely reported that he had been a victim of housebreaking.
