The Independent Electoral Commission has warned political parties that its election deadlines are non-negotiable.

Chief electoral officer, Pansy Tlakula, says parties must submit their list of candidates for the upcoming local government elections within two weeks.

Tlakula says the election timetable is legally binding and no provisions will be made for parties who miss the cut off dates.
