Nine people have been arrested in for being in possession of drugs in Ravensmead, Kraaifontein and Eerste River last night.
Metro police deputy Chief Yolanda Faro says during a joint operation with the South African Police Services, Customs, and the City’s Land Use and Law Enforcement sections officers executed searches at 20 tuck shops in Ravensmead.
“Customs officials confiscated two gambling machines as well as illegal cigarettes and matches. Metro Police K-9 Unit officers arrested one suspect for possession of illegal narcotics after half a Mandrax tablet and two dagga ‘stoppe’ were found in his possession.
“We also confiscated 32 packets of TIK which were found abandoned in Coronation Street,” said Faro.
Faro added that later that evening, officers arrested four suspects in Kraaifontein for dealing in drugs and alcohol.
Another four suspects were arrested in Eerste River on charges of possession of illegal narcotics and fraud after they were found with drugs, fake ID books and All-Pay cards, said Faro.
