The vigilante group responsible for urban terror in the Western Cape during the 1990s, People Against Gangsterism and Drugs, Pagad, still has some following in Cape Town.
The community policing forum of Nyanga, adjacent to Manenberg, has come out in support of the group’s march in Manenberg last night.
Pagad supporters marched on a drug dealer’s house and convinced him to tell the crowd he’d stop dealing.
Nyanga Community Policing Forum chairperson Hanif Loonat says there’s a place for Pagad in these challenging times.
