Two men were killed and three were injured, when their vehicle left the N1 near Kroonstad and rolled repeatedly.

The cause of the accident is not yet clear and has remained the subject of the South African Police Force investigation.

All indications are that the driver had lost control of the light motor vehicle while negotiating a bend.

The car, which had been bound for Bloemfontein from Sasolburg, veered from the roadway and overturned rolling several times before coming to rest in a field that lies adjacent to the national freeway.

Netcare911 spokesperson Jeffrey Wicks says two men are in a critical condition in hospital.
