Justice Minister Jeff Radebe has paid tribute to Herbert Msimang, the Judge President of the KwaZulu-Natal High Court, who died in a Pietermaritzburg hospital.
He is believed to have suffered heart-related problems. Msimang dismissed a corruption case against President Jacob Zuma in 2006. Zuma had at the time been fired as deputy president.
Radebe says Msimang had one of the sharpest independent legal minds and had worked for the advancement of democracy.
