Police Minister Nathi Mthethwa has assured the public that he will make the streets of Gauteng safer.
Mthethwa and National Police Commissioner General Bheki Cele oversaw the destruction of 25,000 firearms in Boksburg on Gauteng’s East Rand.
Mthethwa said raids will continue in Gauteng and other provinces in South Africa.
Gauteng has been reported as being accounted for 50 percent of crime stats in the country.
