The SA Petrol Retailers Association says motorists will not only have to deal with a series of fuel increases this year, but also the possibility of fuel shortages.
Association director Peter Noke says Transnet has announced it will reduce the volume of fuel carried by pipeline from the coast to Gauteng due to maintenance operations.
He says that fuel will not be transported by road, which may lead to shortages.
An announcement on next week’s fuel price increase is expected later today.
Noke says he expects the price of petrol go up by 54-cents per litre and diesel by 64-cents.
