The United Transport and Allied Workers’ Union says Metrorail is using its drivers as scapegoats.
Earlier this week, Metrorail fired one of its drivers after he was found guilty of causing 12-million-Rands-worth of damage earlier this year.
Utatu general secretary Chris de Vos says the company is shifting the focus away from its many failures.
De Vos says they will ensure that every driver accused of misconduct will be given a fair hearing.
