The campaign to stop and check school buses for roadworthiness has seen nearly 50 000vehicles inspected across the country during the past week.
Transport Minister Sibusiso Ndebele instructed law enforcement officials to stop and inspect the buses following the deaths of at least 76 people in eight separate accidents last month.
The victims died in accidents in six provinces.
Officials say 210 of the inspected transport vehicles were taken off the road during the past week and more than ten-thousand fines were issued.
