The case against the 56-year-old driver, Mninikhaya Mvuli, is ongoing. He’s been charged with culpable homicide and reckless driving.

The Western Cape’s Education Department spokesperson, Kerry Mauchline, confirmed that the learner was from Lentegeur High School.

‘’The collision had already claimed the lives of five young learners, and it is an incredible tragedy that a sixth has now been added. We offer our deepest condolences to his family, friends and school at this very difficult time, and our district office is providing support.”
