The Western Cape Government has called on the police to improve their tactics to end violent crime in the province.
This follows another mass shooting that claimed the lives
of three people in Nyanga this weekend.
The victims were ambushed by unknown gunmen on Sunday
afternoon.
Police suspect that the shooting is related to extortion or
retaliation to another shooting.
According to the police spokesperson, Col Andrè Traut, the three yet to be identified victims were ambushed by their killers at around 4pm in Ntlangano Crescent and killed on the scene.
“One victim was found inside his white Toyota Avanza, one
next to the vehicle and one in a tailoring business operating from a container
in the street", he added.
Traut said detectives and crime scene experts were
examining the scene for clues in what police believe could be an attack “linked
to extortion or possibly retaliation”.
