A night out for two men turned tragic as one of them were fatally shot and the other survived the ordeal.
Police told Bush Radio News that officers were patrolling on
Baden Powell Drive when they were alerted by a range officer that he found the 30-year-old
deceased in the parking at Wolfgat Nature Reserve. Another 30-year-old man was
rushed to hospital, in the early hours of Saturday, as he sustained a gunshot wound to his neck.
‘’ On Saturday, 12 July 2025 at about 04:00, members were
patrolling in Baden Powel when they were alerted by a range officer that he
found the deceased in the parking at Wolfgang (sic) Nature Reserve. The members
went to the scene where they found the deceased as well as the injured survivor
who made a report that he and the deceased got a lift home from a club in town.
They were dropped off at the parking where the occupants of the vehicle met
with occupants in another vehicle. Both were shot and left behind as the two
vehicles sped off. The deceased was declared dead by medical personnel whilst
the injured victim was transported to a medical facility,’’ said Lieutenant
Colonel Malcolm Pojie, Western Cape police spokesperson.
