Power cuts will not spread to the whole of the country
Eskom has given the assurance that the electricity cuts that have been plaguing the Western Cape won’t spread to the rest of the country, even in winter. Government and Eskom on Friday announced an emergency electricity management plan for the Western Cape that means that there will be power cuts until about mid-July, but not quite as severe as at present. Representatives of South African business expressed their concern at the announcement of the emergency plan at Koeberg and were given the assurance that the problem would not affect other provinces.
