Cape Peninsula film complex gets go-ahead
The Western Cape government has given the go-ahead for the building of the long awaited Dreamworld film studio complex. The complex is to be built near Khayelitsha, Blue Downs and Eerste River in the Cape Peninsula. Earlier, the Wildlife and Environmental Society of South Africa and CapeNature had objected to the building of the complex in the natural wetlands. MEC Tasneem Essop says in a statement that measures will be put in place that will protect the wetlands. Essop added that nearly two million rands must be set aside for a fund to be established by Environmental Affairs and CapeNature. The money will be used to conserve and manage wetlands.
