Petrol price goes up again
South African motorists can prepare themselves for quite a shock when they fill their petrol tanks from midnight tonight. The Department of Minerals and Energy says the retail price of petrol will be increased by between 21 cents and 24 cents. The price will depend on whether it is leaded or not and on the octane level. The wholesale price of diesel goes up by between 25 and 26 cents a litre. Illuminating paraffin will cost eight cents a litre more. The Department says the rand weakened against the dollar in the period in review and this forced the fuel prices up.
