Armed robbers still at large in the Eastern Cape
Police in the Eastern Cape are still looking for a gang of at least ten armed robbers who stormed a police station in Grahamstown early yesterday morning. The incident happened at the Debe Nek police station when the suspects, driving three vehicles, pretended to be looking for directions. They then assaulted two female police reservists and took their service pistols as well as safe keys, three R-5 rifles, a nine-millimetre pistol, two bulletproof vests, ammunition and two cellphones. Superintendent Michelle Matroos says that possible leads are being investigated that might put police on the robbers’ trail.
