British citizenship classes at schools may become compulsory

In Britain citizenship classes could become compulsory in secondary schools to improve pupil’s sense of their Britishg identity. Sky news reports that the lessons would explain the importance of democracy and free speech as well as the contributions of different communities of the country. Introduction of the classes follow the July 7th attacks in London carried out by Muslim extremists. The idea is to see if teaching core values of democracy and free speech to children aged 11 and 16 can help combat terrorism and discrimination.
