President Bush to order troops to the US-Mexican border
American President, George W Bush, will use a prime time speech on Monday tonight to call for thousands of National Guard troops deployed along the Mexican border to help back up the U.S Border Patrol. Fox News reports that the Senate is trying to pass a guest worker proposal that opponents say does not do enough to stem the influx of illegal immigrants passing over the southern border each day. Arnold Schwarzenegger of California and Bill Richardson of New Mexico, say using Guardsmen to man the border would further burden an over-extended military.
